Harkness Screens to Showcase Hugo SR, Next-Gen 3D Screens, and New Labs Checker at Big Cine Expo 2025
Chennai, India – August 7, 2025 – Harkness Screens, the global leader in cinema screen technology, is set to make a powerful presence at Big Cine Expo 2025, bringing to the forefront its latest innovations in projection surfaces and monitoring tools. The event will be held in Chennai on August 19 and 20, where Harkness will be present at Booth 406.
Among the key highlights this year is the Hugo SR screen, the world’s first cinema screen engineered specifically for laser projection systems. Designed to deliver improved contrast and significantly reduced visible speckle, Hugo SR represents a major step forward in screen optimization for laser-driven auditoriums.
Also on display will be Harkness’ latest generation of 3D screens, which provide enhanced brightness, polarization efficiency, and improved uniformity, making them ideal for immersive 3D cinema environments.
In a much-anticipated development, the company is also introducing its newest tool from HSG Labs: the HSG Labs Checker. Developed over two years, this lightweight and affordable device enables cinema managers, owners, and service engineers to effectively monitor on-screen brightness and conduct sound checks. It is a significant upgrade over the older Digital Screen Checker and is expected to be widely adopted by cinemas seeking consistent presentation quality at a lower cost.
Harkness’ leadership team attending the expo will include Andrew Emmott (VP Sales), Anup G, Dhanraj Dhagge, Hawama Noor, and Sohini Majumdar, who will be available for live demos and discussions with industry professionals and partners.
“At Harkness, we continue to push the boundaries of cinema technology, not just in what you see on the screen but in how exhibitors manage and deliver that experience,” said Mark Ashcroft, CEO of Harkness Screens. “The Hugo SR and our latest 3D screens represent the future of visual storytelling, while the Labs Checker empowers cinema operators with better tools for presentation quality control. Big Cine Expo is the perfect platform to bring this innovation to our partners across India and Asia.”
Andrew Emmott, VP Sales at Harkness Screens, added: “We’re incredibly excited to return to Big Cine Expo with solutions that respond directly to the needs of cinema operators. From the affordability and ease-of-use of the HSG Labs Checker to the industry-first design of the Hugo SR for laser projection, everything we’re showcasing this year is about enabling better cinematic experiences from both the technical and audience perspectives.”
